The state's biggest olympiads · 2026–27
Every year, students from Class 2 to Class 10 across Assam sit the Luminous Mind State Mathematics Olympiad and State Science Olympiad — in English, Assamese or Bodo medium — with cash awards for district and state toppers.
Students sit one or both subject papers in a single test window each year. Every paper is written by educators and reviewed for grade-appropriate difficulty, from Class 2 to Class 10.
Number sense, geometry and problem-solving questions that reward reasoning over recall.
Physics, chemistry and biology fundamentals, paired with applied questions on how things work.
Question papers are set in English, Assamese and Bodo medium, so students sit the paper in their own language of instruction.
Open to every student from Class 2 to Class 10, grouped into age-appropriate paper levels.
District toppers and state toppers in each subject and class group receive a cash awards, alongside medals and certificates.
Two levels carry a student from their own classroom to a state-wide ranking.
A 60-minute MCQ paper at the student's own school: Mathematics in 15th of December, Science in the 22nd of December.
Class toppers, Level 1 rank holders and each district's top 25 sit a second 60-minute paper at a centre finalised by LMOF, at no extra fee, where district and state toppers are decided.
Answer sheets reach LMOF within 7 days of the exam. Results follow about three weeks later and are sent to schools, along with medals, certificates and cash prizes.
See how your students compare against peers across all 35 districts of Assam, not just their own classroom.
Every participating school receives a topic-wise breakdown of where their students are strong and where they need support.
Alongside student prizes, the state's best principals and teachers are honoured each year for the work they put into preparing their students.
The foundation supplies papers, answer keys and invigilation guidelines — schools only need to book a room and a date.
